Multinational retail chain Walmart seeks greater seafood and other meal products from Vietnam to satisfy its growing global demand.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and Walmart held a seminar on 17 July in Ho Chi Minh City titled “Strategies to cooperate with retail chain Walmart,” consistent with a central authority declaration.
Walmart wants to see greater products from Vietnam in its international delivery chains – such as seafood, meals, family home equipment, furnishings, and toys – Johnny Fung, senior director of Walmart Global Sourcing, said for the seminar’s duration.
In 2018, Walmart worked in 28 nations with an income fee of USD 500 billion (EUR 444 billion), serving a median of 270 million customers in keeping with week. Fung said the demand for brand-new merchandise and providers are massive at the gift.

But Fung said Walmart has been running with numerous Vietnamese partners and is willing to cope with their worries in approaching its distribution system. Fung explained that it is prepared to offer a guide to improve providers’ production talents and technologies, raise recognition in labor protection, and guard exertion rights.
Ta Hoang Linh, director of the Vietnamese ministry’s European and American marketplace department, stated the Vietnamese market had received huge interest from the arena’s global stores, including Walmart.
