Eco-friendly HoG tech possibly to strengthen three trains from Vizag
Visakhapatnam: Three trains originating from the Visakhapatnam railway station (VRS) will probably be covered inside the list of trains to move on to the ‘head-on technology’ (HoG) era.
The AP Express (Visakhapatnam to New Delhi), Duranto (Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad), and Garibrath (Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad) are expected to get this era.
According to professionals, using HoG generation is eco-friendly as there’s no smoke or noise pollution; it also reduces carbon emissions with the aid of 700 mt in keeping with 12 months in line with the train.
Currently, the New Delhi to Mumbai Rajdhani Express has this technology.
Railway officials at the electric loco shed on the VRS are preparing a file of the movement plan; dependable assets advised TOI.
The pass, if taken, is anticipated to create 500 additional berths for passengers each day.
Speaking to TOI, a VRS professional said that HoG enables generating power from the locos (rail engines) rather than power generator automobiles for lighting fixtures and air-conditioning of LHB (Link Hofmann Busch) education trains.
Currently, there are around one or two powerful motors on the end of each teaching in every LHB rake in which the strength furnished to coaches is produced through a diesel generator.
Under the HoG machine, strength will be provided from overhead energy lines and disbursed during the train.
“According to our inner tips, the new HoG may be used on LHB training trains from October. This will no longer allow trains to shed themselves off the power cars, accommodate greater coaches, but will also shop power,” the senior railway reliable said.
According to railway officials, an energy automobile uses almost 65 to 70 liters of diesel to keep an hour in air-conditioned coaches. The railway spends nearly Rs 1. Five crores to Rs 2 crore annually on each electric vehicle.
“By getting rid of the energy automobile from the teach, we will add a passenger educate in its place as a consequence growing the variety of berths with outgrowing the train duration,” the railway professional defined.
According to specialists, HoG technology is green as there are no smoke or noise pollutants; it also allows decreasing carbon emissions by 700 mt in step with the year in grade with teaching. Currently, the New Delhi to Mumbai Rajdhani Express has this era.
