WASHINGTON — The Consumer Price Index for baked foods and cereal products rose 0.2% in July, in line with the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor. The index for all meals at domestic became flat.
Of the 18 gadgets followed by Milling & Baking News, eleven posted month-over-month increases, five completed lower, and a pair were unchanged.
Before seasonal adjustment, the July index for Cereals and Bakery Products turned into 277.5% of the 1982-84 average, up 1.5% from 12 months ago. For all meals at domestic, the July index changed to 241. Four, up 0.7% from July 2018.
The C.P.I. For cereals and cereal products in July turned into 230. Four, up zero., 2% from June, and 1.1% from July 2018. The index for the merchandise within this class protected: flour and prepared mixes, 241.1, up 1.1% from June, however down 0.4% from the preceding year; breakfast cereal, 224, unchanged from the previous month but up 1.Nine% from the yr ago; and rice, pasta, and cornmeal, 240.7, up zero.1% from June and up zero.6% from July 2018.
In July, the rate index for bakery products turned to 304.5, up to zero.Three% from June and up 1.7% from July 2018.
The July index for bread became 183. Five, up zero., 7% from June, and 2.2% from July 2018. Under this heading, the C.P.I. For white bread changed to 329. Four, down 0.2% from June but up 1.7% from July 2018. For bread apart from white, the index became 360.2, up 1.4% from June and up 2.Nine% from 12 months ago.
The July price index for clean biscuits, rolls, and truffles became 177. Three, down zero., 1% from June, and unchanged from July 2018. The July index for desserts, cupcakes, and cookies was 292.7, up zero., 5% from June, and u.2% from July 2018. Under this section, different charge indexes included fresh desserts and cupcakes, 319.2, up zero.1% from June and up 3.1% from July 2018, and cookies, 272.8, up 0.Nine% from the preceding month and up to 1.Eight% from the prior year.
The C.P.I. For different bakery merchandise in July was 270. Eight, down zero., 1% from June but up 1.7% from July 2018. Under this heading, other rate indexes in July protected: fresh sweet rolls, espresso cakes, and donuts, 310.1, down 0.1% from June but up 2.Four% from July 2018; crackers and cracker products, 309.5, unchanged from June but up 1.7% from July 2018; and frozen and refrigerated bakery merchandise, pies, muffins, and turnovers, 268. Eight, down 0.5% from June but up 0.1% from the previous year.
